Welcome to the Home of Chitem Chihuahuas

Chitem Chihuahuas was found in 2004, we started off with a little girl who we bought from Dieptrap Chihuahuas as a pet. her beauty and grace she presented in our home, made us realize that we had a winner on our hands.

However, on the show bench our little angel turned into a little lion, we were greatly distressed about this but were hooked on showing.

We then decided to venture into finding the perfect little dog to show. Today we own some of the best bloodlines that there is to be found on the South African show bench.

From Pasadena, Yupyupper, Chifafa, Dieptrap and many others who are to be found behind our dogs are just some of the legendary bloodlines in South Africa.

We endeavor to breed Chihuahuas, healthy, well conformed and with good temperaments. we prefer our dogs in pet homes than in kennels and as breeders as we believe each Chihuahua needs a individual owner to love it. even better when a whole family cares and loves our little love pups.

We have imported two stud boy Chihuahua's from two world renowned breeders:

Chi-Mountain - long coat black and white

Envi Chihuahuas - short coat fawn and white

We are sure they will be a great asset to our breeding program and that their   progeny with local females will soon be gracing the show fields of Southern Africa.

Although this is a family sport, our son, Graeme has taken to the show ring with a vengeance. he loves the Junior Handler classes and loves to assist other breeders with showing their beautiful animals. due to this we were introduced to the Basenji, a stunning dog with a fabulous personality.

Mrs. Marie Knight agreed to allow Graeme to adopt one of her top Puppies. Marikate Akia of Chitem has really proved to be a top show dog from day one.

His first show he won best Basenji Puppy, Best hound puppy and was runner up Puppy of the Day! we believe that he will soon set the standard of the new Basenji's to grace the bench when his bloodlines are combined with our soon to arrive girl from Australian Judge John Forbes. We consider to export our Puppies to loving show homes where we know they will be an asset in improving the gene pools and the type.

However, it must be considered that our dogs are sold with pre - requirement questionnaires and contracts will have to be in place before our loved one leaves our care.
